New EP „Alchemize“ by our homie EMERLD.

And this is a special one as EMERLD makes clear in his statement on his new EP: „Alchemy. A seemingly magical process of transformation, creation, or combination. Nothing could describe this project better than those few words. This music signals a change in attitude and direction for me. No more jazzy chops to hide behind. These vibes are naked baby. As fun as sampling is, there's nothing like layering chords over melodies over basses over drums and sitting back at the end of it all be able to say... that music is truly me. Music has been a constant source of therapy for me.
I’ve been playing instruments for 30 years, give or take. I’ve been through more phases and genre switch ups than I can remember. For the first time ever I feel like I’ve finally found my sound. Looking back on the journey I can’t help but think about the importance of change and transformation. Trying new things. Learning new skills. The artists I respect the most never stand still. Destruction is a form of creation. This project serves as a reminder to myself to never be afraid
to start from scratch. Maybe you’ll prefer where you land over where you took off from. Shout outs to my literal bro Andy for the delicious guitar pepperings on Dashi, Advent and Skin Scent. Big ups to KevonKJ for the baddest of badass sax solos on Interlude.“
